Our first parade, 2006, had over 80 entries in it and we did this in two months time...it was great! Now that we have 6 times more time for the 2007 parade it should be 6 times as good....right? OK, maybe not 6 times better, we really hustled last year and wouldn't have any family or job left if we worked at that pace for the whole year, having said that, the 2007 parade is going to be greatly improved as we start to raise funds, develop the infrastructure, advertise and can plan ahead to bring great entries and attractions to the parade. One thing you can count on, the focus of the parade will be on our veterans and it will get better year after year until it becomes a signature event for the East Valley.
This years Mesa Veterans Day Parade will be held on MONDAY the day after Veterans Day. That is November 12, 2007. This is the federally recognized holiday and the only time the Veterans Day Parade will be held on a day other than Veterans Day. The parade will start at 11am on the 12th.
We are always on the lookout for individuals and companies that can volunteer to help put on the parade, donate, or otherwise help move things forward.
If you would like to donate, please see our donate icon on the home page. If you would like to volunteer or enter the parade, please contact our President and Chairman, Gunny Alger at Frank (Gunny) Alger.
Please come back for more information as we get closer to the parade.
Thank you for your interest in helping honor our Veterans!
